The Farmer’s Daughter opens serving local, in-season menu to support and cultivate, “A sustainable future for farmers, artists, small business-folk, and families.”
According to Farmer’s Daughter website, the cafe will also, “Host culinary workshops, a pop-up functional art gallery, movie nights, and other community oriented events.”
The cafe is, “Partnering with Copacetic a coffee bar run by the finest coffee roasters in the southeast, Velo Coffee.”

From serving customers fresh food on local pottery to classes and workshops, The Farmer’s Daughter Café plans include a commitment to supporting the local economy. “We realize that what we truly enjoy is community interaction,” said Ann Keener, co-owner of The Farmer’s Daughter and its namesake. “We embrace the concept that the local economy should be built on more than just food. The cups we drink from, the art on our walls, the music we listen to, and the people we sit next to at supper are all just as important as the food we eat.”
With that mission, various events will be planned. Movie nights and pop-up art galleries highlighting pottery, glassware, or woodwork will take place. Classes and workshops such as fermentation, home beer brewing, canning, and bread making are also slated to be housed in The Farmer’s Daughter’s space.
The Farmer’s Daughter will accommodate most diets, with locally and sustainably sourced meats as well as vegan and vegetarian options. The menu boasts offerings with both ethnic and traditional southern influences, from Local Sausage & Egg Biscuit and Rice Bowl with Greens for breakfast to Falafel and Cumberland Pimento Cheese Sandwich for lunch. Most menu items display a unique taste by using ingredients grown within 100 miles of Chattanooga, utilizing the freshest produce available. Customers can expect a menu that changes with the seasons, such as light desserts featuring strawberries in the spring and comforting entrees highlighting sweet potatoes and greens in the fall. The Farmer’s Daughter will strive to purchase non-local products from sustainable sources, while keeping affordability in mind.
Copacetic Coffee will have a coffee bar within the restaurant, serving sustainably grown and locally roasted coffee. Drinks at Copacetic Coffee will have a specific flavor profile that will highlight the unique tastes of their coffee. Andrew Bettis, co-owner of Copacetic Coffee adds, “We want to provide an experience that paints an accurate picture of what went into growing, harvesting, processing and roasting the coffee. We’re only a window to the variety of aromas and flavors coffee can yield and are the final step of the coffee’s journey from the farm to your cup.“
Regular operating hours will be Tuesday through Friday, 7am – 2pm. Saturday and Sundays hours are 8am – 3pm. The Farmer’s Daughter is located at 1211 Hixson Pike, with an attached parking lot behind the building.
