Yesterday, a barge carrying 80,000 gallons of crude crashed into a railroad bridge, leaking an unknown amount of oil into the Mississippi river. The reported at Raw Story states that the Coast Guard at Vicksburg, Mississippi issued an advisory.
The article states that, “Reports from area media suggest that one of the boats suffered a 24-foot gash along its side.”
The Coast Guard Pollution Response team was working on the site to soak up oil on the scene.
