Rare photo of Atomic Bomb split-cloud over Hiroshima emerges

“Rare photo provided by the Honkawa Elementary School on January 9, 2013 of the atomic mushroom cloud over Hiroshima”

Japan Today has published a, “Rare photo of A-bomb split cloud found in Hiroshima.

The black-and-white picture is believed to have been taken about half-an-hour after the bombing on Aug 6, 1945, around 10 kilometers east of the hypocentre.

A curator for the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum is quoted for the article:

“A shot showing the mushroom cloud split into two like this is very rare.”
